Cancer causes high mortality globally, accounting for 10 million deaths in 2020, 1/6 of all deaths. In India, the number of cancer patients is expected to rise to 29.8 million in 2025 from 26.7 million in 2021. North and Northeast regions have highest cancer cases, with 2,408 and 2,177 patients per 100,000 respectively, and is more prevalent in men.

It is emphasised that early detection and effective treatment are crucial in curing many types of cancer. Approximately 30-50% of cancers can be prevented by avoiding risk factors and implementing proven prevention methods. The impact of cancer can also be reduced by detecting it early and providing proper treatment and care to patients. World Cancer Day is used as an opportunity to raise awareness about the significance of early detection and to highlight the advancements in cancer treatment technology.

"Close the Care Gap" is the theme for World Cancer Day, highlighting the unequal access to cancer care and treatment across the world. The aim is to bring attention to the disparities in cancer care and encourage efforts to bridge the gap for improved outcomes for all patients regardless of where they live. The theme emphasises the need for equitable access to cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care for all.

"Care for All Cancer Patients" is our motto, and the Cancer Healer Center has been working towards it for the last 40 years. We are dedicatedly providing equitable access to all cancer patients and serve as an example for others to follow. Our continued efforts towards this goal had surely made an impact in the lives of many cancer patients.

Our goal is likely to provide high-quality and comprehensive medical care to patients with cancer. This could include early diagnosis, effective treatment, and ongoing support throughout their journey. Providing a holistic approach to care, with a focus on the patient's physical, emotional, and psychological well-being, is also likely to be an important part of our aim. Ensuring equitable access to cancer care for all patients and continuously advancing cancer treatment through research and innovation are also likely to be part of our mission.
